BALLARAT Clarendon College and St Patrick’s College have advanced to the national schoolboys' coxed four championship final.
The Ballarat crews progressed to Sunday's medal row-off by finishing one-two respectively in a repechage in Sydney on Friday.
The first two in each of two repechages earned a berth in the 2000m final, which is scheduled for 11.10am.
They will join state champion Ballarat High School in the final, which will also feature St Augustines College (NSW), Melbourne High School, Newington College (NSW), Scotch College and Prince Alfred College (South Australia).
Ballarat High School avoided having to go through the repechages by finshing second in Thursday's heats – giving it an additional day off.
Loreto College's medal hopes stayed alive with a second to St Margaret's (Queensland) in a schoolgirls' coxed four repechage on Friday.
Loreto’s effort means Ballarat will have a full contingent in Saturday's semi-finals over 2000m.
Ballarat Grammar School, Ballarat Clarendon College and Ballarat High School qualified for the schoolgirls’ semi-finals by finishing second, third and fourth respectively in a heat on Thursday.
Semi-finals will be at 12.40pm and 12.45pm, with the first four in each going on to Sunday's final at 11am.
