The best got around it in just over 10 seconds at Friday’s practice session. The engaging and incredibly fast course will see some thrills and spills over the weekend’s D1 National Drone Racing Challenge.
Racer Casey McFarlane said it was an adrenaline kick even though they’re sitting down.
“When you first start flying, you come off shaking, your hands are trembling,” he said.
Just back from Dubai, Mr McFarlane is one of the First-Person Drone Racing competitors to come from interstate to take part in the Ballarat event, which will also include industry exhibitors and freestyle and lifting competitions.
Tickets are $15 and doors open at 10am both days.
