That’s the message The Modellers of Ballarat Club is sending Ballarat ahead of their 15th annual Ballarat Regional Scale Model Exhibition and Swap ‘n’ Sell on Sunday.
Member Leigh Edmonds, who has been building scale models since he was eight, said the popularity in scale models has never died off.
“We know there are a lot of model makers in Ballarat … the reason we hold (the exhibition) is to show our hobby to the community,” he said.
He said the exhibition was a chance for those who grew up during the height of scale modelling to re-interest themselves in the hobby, while raising money for the Make A Wish charity.
“One thing we do differently to other exhibitions is we have the model makers behind the tables so you can talk to them.”
The exhibition, which will include a variety of aeroplanes, tanks, ships, trains and cars will be held at Federation University’s Caro Convention Centre on April 17 between 10am-4pm.
