Actor Craig McLachlan been nominated for a Silver Logie for Best Actor for his work on The Doctor Black Mysteries, which is based and filmed in Ballarat.
McLachlan thanked his fans via his Facebook page for making a “former heartthrob very happy”.
“Honestly, it's lovely to be nominated for anything particularly when, dare I say it, you've been around as long as I have,” he said in his post.
McLachlan said he had waited his entire career for the role of Dr Lucien Blake, the title role in the show, which has been screening since 2013 and is set in 1959-60.
If he wins, it will not be McLachlan’s first Logie. In 1990, he won gold for playing Henry Ramsay in Neighbours and won a silver a year later for Home and Away.
He will be competing for this year’s win against Erik Thomson, Osh Thomas, Stephen Peacocke and Firass Dirani.
