One person is dead after a crash between a car and a truck on the Western Freeway near Ballan this morning.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the male driver of the car was killed after the collision in the east-bound lanes, just before 7am.
His age has not yet been released.
Police say the car travelling towards Ballarat is believed to have crossed the centre median strip and collided with the truck.
The male driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.
The Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the truck driver is being treated on scene and is expected to be transported to the Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The Western Freeway east-bound lanes were closed to traffic near the Ballan-Daylesford Road, with all lanes re-opening at 1.45pm.
