Harris has assumed the head coaching role of the BCA’s junior squads, which includes under-12, under-13, under-14, under-15, under-16 and under-17 sides that compete in a range of competitions throughout each season.
The Golden Point club coach runs his own cricket coaching business and is expected to have three assistants under his leadership.
There is also likely to be additional coaches and team managers for each division.
BCA operations manager Greg Wakeling said Harris had already provided some planning to the association in the early stages since taking over the position.
“We are just putting more emphasis on the structures and the processes around junior representative cricket,” Wakeling said.
“We’re looking for a more professionally run program.”
Harris, who helped lead the Pointies to the firsts premiership last season and has since been reappointed as the club’s head coach, said the new junior representative model was similar to the one used throughout the Central Highlands region’s pathways program.
We’re obviously keen to keep the BCA moving in the right direction and keep on improving the players that represent our association."

“We’re obviously keen to keep the BCA moving in the right direction and keep on improving the players that represent our association,” Harris said.
Harris said he was passionate about the game of cricket and is looking forward to the challenge of his new position.

“Sun up to sun down in the summer and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Harris told BCA TV.
“I’m looking forward to implementing some great programs and certainly see some improvement in the kids.”
Harris will spearhead the BCA’s junior winter program, which will see about 100 youngsters take part in hands-on coaching sessions in the lead-up to the 2016-17 season.
The BCA will soon be calling for nominations of talented players from clubs throughout the competition.
