Works are nearing completion at the Smythesdale Wellbeing Centre extension, with handover to be completed by July.
The internal aspects of the build are due to be completed by the end of the month, followed by the external works.
Golden Plains Shire Council has allocated $478,000 to the project, with Regional Development Victoria also contributing $500,000.
The Well is a community hub which provides access to a general practitioner and pharmacy alongside other health services.
The facility upgrade is designed to ensure local businesses will have office space co-located with the services and with access to the town square, providing high visibility and connection with the community.
The extension will also have its own entrance and access to amenities to allow public access to limited parts of the facility after hours and on weekends.
“It will be a great asset for Smythesdale and surrounding communities,” Golden Plains Shire Council mayor Des Phelan said.
