THREE of Ballarat’s most promising young tennis players will represent the Greater Western region at the School Sports Victoria Tennis State Singles Championships to be held in North Balwyn on Friday.
Twelve-year-old Miles Sheridan from Ballarat Grammar will be one of 16 boys in the competition, while 11-year-olds Megan O’Beirne from Emmaus Catholic and Milla Fraser from Pleasant Street will both feature in the girls competition.
The tournament features two players from each of the four regional and four metropolitan zones.
In order to receive the call-up the trio had to first make it through the Greater Ballarat tournament before then earning their place in the squad by competing at the Greater Western Zone Championships held in March.
The tournament will see each player compete in a pool of four, playing one eight-game set against each player, with the best progressing onto the semi finals.
