The long-standing tradition, held for the 46th time on Sunday, is a welcome chance for former employees to keep in touch.
This year’s edition is living proof that the Ballarat public still has fond memories of the historic Bridge Street department store.
Former employee Val D’Angri said working at the store was like being with “family”.
The store opened in 1908 and was the choice location for locals looking for clothing, hosiery and carpet.
Run by father and son duo W.R Morshead senior and junior, Morshead’s grew from a seven-metre front to a 50-metre front and took over multiple buildings in what is now known as the Bridge Mall.
