The Sydney horsewoman saddles up import Cafe Society for his jumping debut in a rookie jumpers’ series heat, the QLS Logistics Maiden Hurdle, 3200m.
Less than three months ago Cafe Society was twice placed in group races in Sydney - second in the group 3 Manion Cup, 2400m, at Rosehill and third in the group 2 Chairman’s Handicap, 2600m, at Randwick.
The 6yo has since been unplaced in the Sydney and Warrnambool Cups, and Ramsden Stakes at Flemington, as well as fitting in two hurdle trials.
Waterhouse has had licence to train jumpers since 2013 and this year landed her first jumps feature event when Valediction took out the Brierly Steeplechase at the Warrnambool May Carnival.
The Ballarat Turf has two jumps races on Thursday.
The first race on the eight-event program is at 12.30pm. The track was on Tuesday rated a heavy10.
