On Wednesday, the school took on reigning Just For Kicks champions Beringa Specialist School Moe in a friendly match at Morshead Park.
PE teacher Craige Emonson said the 16 students in the team were keen to take on Beringa “on our home turf”.
“They are extremely excited about their soccer. It’s all about participation and the enjoyment of using their personalised skills to their best potential,” Mr Emonson said.
Access For All Abilities program co-ordinator Charlie Payton said when he arrived at the school to take soccer lessons, most of the kids were already waiting for him.
“They just love it. The whole program is about inclusion,” Mr Payton said.
Wendouree MP Sharon Knight tossed the coin to start the game and was introduced to the players by each team captain.
Ballarat Specialist School pupil Caleb, 12, said he just wanted to “get some goals”, while Rebecca, 12, said it was “all about working together as a team”.
