THE ladder leading Forest Rangers were pushed all the way in their men’s division one clash with Ballarat on the weekend, with a 90th minute goal from Kyle Burns allowing the Rangers to take the points 2-1.
However Ballarat will keep its place at third on the table after Warrnambool played out a tense 0-0 draw away from home against Bacchus Marsh.
A strong performance from Vic Park Blue forced the in-form Sebastopol Vikings to share the points in a 1-1 draw, while North United proved far too strong for Creswick under lights on Friday, cruising past the Cougars 3-0.
In the women’s division one competition, the Sebastopol Vikings continued their charge up the table with a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over a determined Vic Park Blue outfit. In their previous encounter two months ago Sebastopol cruised to an 8-1 victory.
Warrnambool was forced to work hard to overcome Vic Park White away from home, with a converted penalty in the 80th minute from Jennifer Smith giving the second placed side a 2-1 victory.
In the final contest of the round Forest overpowered Creswick to run home 5-0.
