Icy weather did justice to the first weekend of Ballarat’s Winterlude Festival, with hundreds braving chilly conditions for a go on the pop-up ice skating rink.
Winterlude’s flagship attraction was a sell-out across several sessions, while a massive crowd attended the Seriously Shiraz Festival at the Mining Exchange on Saturday evening.
Other staple features of this year’s edition include Sovereign Hill’s Winter Wonderlights event, the anunual gourmet Pie and Pale competition, the Knights of Fire at Kryal Castle, the Laneways Lumieres project the light up Ballarat’s laneways (from July 1) and hot chocolate walking tours.
Details on the four-week festival can be found on the www.winterlude.com.au website.
