AFL Goldfields has announced its 30-man squad for the under-15 Ballarat and District V/Line Cup.
The group will play matches against South West and Hampden over the next two Wednesday’s starting tomorrow at Willaura Football Club.
The 30-man squad had been trimmed down from 70 that had been initially invited to try out for the squad last month.
Over the course of training sessions and weekend performances the squad was whittled down to 30.
Games commence at 11.00am at Willaura as the talented youngsters take part in matches consisting of four 20-minute quarters.
The side will be coached by Ricky Andrews and Johnno Leoncini.
The competition provides a great pathway for promising juniors in the Ballarat region to be exposed to the next level.
Wimmera Football League will also take part in the two trial games with two 24-man teams to be chosen from the combined lists to represent the Rebels Region at the V/Line Championships in Gippsland in September.
The Ballarat Football League makes up the bulk of the squad with 25 players. Fourth-placed Redan is best represented with six players selected in the squad while top two clubs Lake Wendouree and North Ballarat have five players each.
Central Highlands Football League delivered four members across three clubs.
While Maryborough Castlemaine District Football League had one selected from Carisbrook.
