Narrow defeat for our juniors
AFL Goldfields’ trip north has started with defeat.
The under-17 football team, made up of players from the Ballarat, Central Highlands, Maryborough Castlemaine District and Riddell District competitions, suffered a narrow eight-point loss at the hands of the AFL Cairns representative side on Sunday.
Led by Gordon coach Gary Learmonth, AFL Goldfields is now preparing for a game against a combined Townsville-Mackay side in Townsville on Wednesday before returning home.
