A City of Ballarat senior officer has been announced as the head of Federation University's Ballarat Technology Park.
Ballarat City Council executive of major projects and communications Jeff Pulford was unveiled as the new head of the technology park this afternoon.
Mr Pulford will commence his position at the technology park in August.
“I am delighted to take up this new role at Federation University and take the Ballarat Technology Park into its next stage of development,” Mr Pulford said.
“The park is one of Ballarat’s great success stories. It employs approximately 1500 people and generates about $300 million in economic outputs each year.”
Mr Pulford said the technology hub was leading the way across regional Victoria.
“With up to 30 tenants including IBM and the State Revenue Office, our two sites in Mount Helen and central Ballarat are leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship,” he said.
Deputy vice-chancellor of research and innovation Professor Leigh Sullivan welcomed Mr Pulford’s appointment.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Jeff Pulford on board,” Professor Sullivan said.
He also acknowledged outgoing executive director Mal Vallance for his years of leadership.
“The present Technology Park is testimony to his great work,” he said.
