A MAN who police allege was driving with a sawn off shot gun in his car, will front Ballarat Magistrate Court today charged with a string of offences including drug trafficking, possession of ammunition and possession of proceeds of crime.
Police intercepted the 32-year-old man in his vehicle at 1.30am on Thursday near the Minerdome.
Ballarat Senior Sergeant Neale Robinson said police pulled the man over due to suspected registration issues.
Police searched his car and allegedly found the sawn-off shot gun, a large quantity of ammunition, a large amount of cash, drugs and some knives.
“He was taken to the police station where he was interviewed and will be remanded to face court this morning,” Senior Sergeant Robinson said.
The man was charged with possession of ammunition, possession of drugs, possessing proceeds of crime, driving while disqualified, trafficking drugs, committing offences on bail and numerous other offences.
