
POLICE are appealing for any witnesses who saw a driver conduct a u-turn and drive at a pedestrian before hitting them on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Norman Street, Wendouree after reports of an altercation between two pedestrians and the female driver of a car at 11.45am.
Police say the driver of a car in Norman Street, east of Gillies Street, drove off before conducting a u-turn, driving onto the wrong side of the road and striking one of the pedestrians.
“The driver and left the scene and the pedestrian was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital,” Senior Sergeant Neale Robinson said.
There were a number of witnesses however none recorded the registration details.
