THREE Ballarat Cricket Association players are in the running for Vic Country under-19 selection.
Blake Thomson (East Ballarat), Harli Givvens (East Ballarat) and Bailey Van De Heuvel (Golden Point) have been selected in an initial 38-strong squad to take part in trial matches against Vic Metro at Barooga in September.
Thomson is also in his first year as a rookie with the Victoria Bushrangers.
The trials will determine teams to represent Vic Country and Vic Metro in the national championships in Adelaide in December.
Thomson, Givvens and Van De Heuvel are joined by fellow Central Highlands region players Matt Underwood (Gisborne) Tom Rogers (Gisborne), Jakob Tidyman (Maryborough), Jake Lalor (Bacchus Marsh) and Matt Milne (Gisborne) in the country squad.
