NORTH Ballarat Rebels welfare coordinator Brooke Brown is the TAC Cup under-18 football competition’s latest “local legend”.
Former Western Bulldogs and Rebels player Brett Goodes presented the award on Thursday as part of a Rebels “Towards Zero” player night at Eureka Stadium.
She has been recognised for her contribution to the Rebels since 2008 and long-running success of the competition, which is celebrating 25 years by naming “local legends” and welcoming back former players. Brown has gone from statistician to team manager to now looking after the wellbeing of the players.
TAC CEO Joe Calafiore said the return of role models like Goodes reinforced how TAC Cup players had the opportunity to show leadership on and off the field.
