A FAMILY’s heart-felt plea for the return of their beloved puppy Poppy has resulted in the arrest of a 47-year-old man.
Ballarat Senior Sergeant Neale Robinson said police arrested the 47-year-old in Maryborough after a tip-off from a community member.
Senior Sergeant Robinson said the man was arrested for the theft of Poppy – a seven-month-old pure bred American Staffordshire.
“He had the dog with him at the time,” Senior Sergeant Robinson said.
“He is assisting police with their enquiries.”
Poppy will be reunited with her family this afternoon.
