NATIONAL Broadband Network installation works are set to begin in Daylesford and Clunes in coming months.
More than 2800 homes across Daylesford and Hepburn Springs will receive a fibre-to-the node service, with 900 premises in Clunes also set to be connected to FTTP.
An NBN spokesperson wouldn’t confirm an exact date for the start of works, but said the roll-out remained on track as part of the NBN’s latest three-year-plan for 2015-2018.
The plan outlines works to commence in the two towns in the third quarter of 2016.
Hepburn Shire Council acting chief executive Grant Schuster said the introduction of NBN will be a considerable boost for the townships.
“Any improvement in communications that are available to businesses and residents will greatly improve our ability to live and work,” he said.
