Warrnambool has again asserted its dominance at Jones Oval with an impressive 3-1 victory over the in-form Sebastopol Vikings on Sunday.
The hosts got off to a blistering start with two goals in the opening half an hour to go into the break with a one goal buffer. Michael Loughhead managed to sweeten the deal with a third Warrnambool goal in the 69th minute to ensure the Rangers maintained their undefeated record on home soil.
Elsewhere in the competition, Bacchus Marsh managed to hold on to record a 4-3 win against North United at Morshead Park.
The Scorpions rammed home four unanswered goals in the opening half and looked to have the game sewn up, before United staged a spirited comeback with goals to Timothy Beggs and Talan Flockhart in the 60th and 73rd minutes. Jeremy Beggs narrowed the margin to one in the 88th minute, however United would be beaten by the whistle.
Ballarat came from a one goal deficit at half time to defeat Creswick 5-3 on the stadium pitch at Morshead Park, while the Forest Rangers cruised past Vic Park 3-0.
