LAL Lal’s Emma Milesevic is within striking distance of securing a state motocross title almost a year after sustaining an injury which almost finished her racing career.
Milesevic is a close second to Madison Brown going into the last round of the Victorian senior women’s expert class championship at Swan Hill this weekend.
She will get three races to chase down Brown in what will be her first time on the circuit and knows she will have to be on top of her game to walk away with the title
Milesevic has been more than satisfied with her season given that in August last year she broke a vertebra in the base of her neck and six vertebrae in her back in a racing incident.
“I didn’t get the start I wanted to this season. I didn’t get the preparation I wanted after coming off injury,” she said.
“I’ve been working hard since the start of the season to build up my fitness and speed to where I want it to be.
”My results have been getting better and I’ve been more consistent on the track.
“I’m feeling like I’ve regained my strength to where it was before I got injured,” Milesevic said.
Milesevic will also contest the A Lites against the males – a class in which she is sitting just outside the top 10.
Her next assignment will be the women’s nationals in Coolum, Queensland, on August 27-28.
