The Roos bounced back from their upset loss to Daylesford the week before with a stirring 22-point victory over the reigning premiers at Wallace on Saturday.
In a match where the lead changed hands at different points during the day, Waubra was able to keep the home side scoreless in the third term to set up the 8.12 (60) to 6.2 (38) success.
The Roos have replaced Hepburn in the top four after the Burras were beaten at home by Gordon on Saturday.
Hepburn managed just two goals for the afternoon as the Eagles scored a relatively comfortable 21-point win.
In other big games in round 14, Bungaree got over the line against Beaufort by 18 points and Dunnstown fought back from a hefty quarter-time deficit to record a 13-point victory over Ballan.

Daylesford is ninth and now level on points with Ballan after a 98-point win against Carngham-Linton.
Meanwhile, Clunes recorded just its second triumph of 2016 after beating Smythesdale by 34 points.
