Firefighters were called to the Leckie Grove blaze at 10.40am today, arriving on scene to find a late model sedan fully engulfed in flame.
With no chance of saving the car, they took 10 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Ballarat City Fire Brigade station officer Luke Kneebone said damp conditions helped preventing the fire spreading.
There are few houses located along Leckie Grove, although the car was surrounded by a number of trees.
“Luckily everything is so wet and damp at the moment so it didn’t spread,” he said.
Police are believed to be investigating the fire although they are yet to comment after being contacted by The Courier.
