COLLECTIVELY gym-goers pulled together 55 kilograms in canned food to help those most in need. Anytime Fitness Ballarat and Mount Clear members teamed up to add a little, or a lot, under sparkly Christmas trees in their gyms for the annual 3BA Christmas in July Appeal.
Ballarat manager Simone Boorn-Wells said it seemed like a easy enough way to help make a big impact.
The year appeal supports welfare agencies UnitingCare, Anglicare, the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul through winter. Appeal director Peter Caligari said there had been a generous response for this year’s campaign.
“It’s very successful but it has to be successful each year because of an increasing demand from families forced to seek welfare,” Mr Caligari said.
