Renovations will create a dedicated waiting room with designated children’s waiting space, both separate from a new hallway providing clearer, direct access to the hospital and wards.
Patients and visitors are advised to follow all on-site direction.
Works are expected to last eight weeks.
Construction is also continuing on the Base Hospital's new Drummond Street wing, which is due for completion in November. The wing will also feature a new hospital entrance and reception.
NEW LOOK: BHS Base Hospital's Mair Street entrance will have a clearer, separate pathway for people into wards, instead of through the emergency department.
