Ballarat gears up for must-win final
BALLARAT Rugby Club is gearing up for its clash with Melbourne in the Victorian Club Rugby division 2B preliminary final at Ashwood Reserve, Melbourne.
The Rattas are one of the form teams of the competition having strung together five wins in a row, including a 25-0 victory over Saturday’s opponent Melbourne a fortnight ago. In the sides’ round 11 meeting, Melbourne took the points 27-24
Ballarat will be raring to go after its semi-final opponent – Kiwi Hawthorn – forfeited, handing the Rattas a free pass to the preliminary final stage and a week off to freshen up.
Melbourne will also be well-prepared for the match after finishing on top of conference A and earning a weeks rest in the opening week of the finals.
