In a dance studio, on the outskirts of Ballarat, 25 budding dancers met their idol.
World-renowned choreographer Jason Coleman visited Magpie’s Dancemakers Studios with one thing in mind – to share his dancing wisdom with the next generation of dancers.
Dancemakers Studios director Kylie Lavery said Coleman’s visit was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the young dancers.
“It’s a great opportunity to have someone so great come to Ballarat,” she said.
“He has had a blessed life being exposed to so much, now he is giving back to others.
“This will be one of those moments they will remember forever.”
With dance so popular in Ballarat, Ms Lavery said it was a huge benefit for dancers to have opportunities to learn from the industry’s best.
“The gap between country and city is getting smaller because of people like him.
“He is a great role model.”

Coleman choreographed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
