Bungaree has exited the Central Highlands Netball League finals in straight sets following Buninyong’s convincing 51-28 victory.
Buninyong comfortably accounted for Newlyn by 33 goals in its elimination final and carried over that form into Saturday’s do-or-die clash with the fourth-placed Bungaree.
Buninyong turned the tables on its 37-34 loss to Bungaree a month ago to deliver the 23-goal win.
Learmonth had a scare against Dunnstown but prevailed to win its elimination final 56-51. The third-placed Learmonth edged clear in another tight encounter, having drawn with Dunnstown in round 16.
Central Highlands has had a clear top-two sides throughout the home and away season in Springbank and Skipton. The pair winning 16 games apiece, three more than Learmonth on 13, and will be warm favourites to advance to the grand final. It will take on Learmonth and Buninyong respectively in the preliminary final stage.
