FedUni is number one

It has maintained its maximum five star rating in this area for the eighth consecutive year.

The university also recorded five stars for student support, skills development, educational experience and social equity.

Vice-chancellor Professor David Battersby said the university was “delighted” to again receive amazing ratings from its students.

“Our five star ratings confirm FedUni’s reputation as one of the nation’s leading universities,” Professor Battersby said.

“We also have just been internationally recognised as one of 20 global universities in The Times Class of 2030 Rising Stars.

“On behalf of the university, I thank the students for placing their trust in us.”

The university’s median graduate salary of $56,000 was the highest in Victoria.

The number one ranking for teaching quality was 85 per cent; overall quality of educational experience and skills development were both 84 per cent; and student support was 80 per cent.

“I also thank our FedUni staff for their sterling work in supporting our students.

“We look forward to bringing our high quality programs and dedicated staff to our new Berwick campus from next year.”

Federation University’s 2016 open day was also held on Sunday, with about 10,000 people visiting the Ballarat and Gippsland campuses.

FedUni marketing, advancement and community engagement manager Jamie McDonald said visitors had been interested in a wide range of areas, including information technology, food technology and humanities.

An inaugural Try A Trade Alley also proved popular, with course information available at a range of common areas.

“Prospective students could also find out information on scholarships, student support and Fed Uni Living,” Mr McDonald said.

Bendigo year 12 student Kirralee Knight said she was looking at doing Fed Uni’s civil engineering course and was interested in the Ballarat campus because it was “more regional than Melbourne”.
