Police are investigating after a man attended the Ballarat Base Hospital with a suspected gunshot wound to the stomach on Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the hospital around 3.15pm and are yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, is being treated by medical staff.
He is currently in a serious condition.
The investigation is ongoing.
