In 2026, Phoenix P-12 Community College’s VCAL class will get some very special advice – from themselves.
The class buried a time capsule this week containing letters to themselves, photographs, a USB with the top songs of 2016, a document of this year’s fads, a $5 note that will soon be replaced by a new version and even a list of Australia’s Olympic gold medallists.
Organisers Logan Tezise, Brooke Moore and Joel Cummings said they wanted to start a school tradition and they thought a time capsule was a “pretty cool idea”.
Brooke said in 10 years time the capsule will be dug up at a school reunion.
The time capsule was part of a “crazy ideas” initiative of the VCAL class, which has also included a clean up project where basketball rings were placed over bins for “slam dunking” rubbish.
