Damascus College’s annual VCE visual arts exhibition was a hit with students, staff and parents alike.
The exhibition was held at the school and included works from students studying food, materials and technology, visual communication, photography, media and studio art.
Damascus College learning arts area leader Maria Russell, who opened the exhibition along with school board member Sister Berenice Kerr, said there were numerous artworks displayed.
She said the exhibition acknowledged the creativity, time and effort that the young visual art students had invested in their work.
“People were incredibly impressed by them,” Ms Russell said. “And parents were appreciative of being able to see the their final folios.
“The feedback has been very positive.”
Ms Russell said three Damascus College students had also been selected as finalists in the Archibald Prize Paste-Up Awards, including Sinead O’Reilly, Caitlyn Pitcher and Leah Potter, who have their work displayed in local laneways.
