A bike ride from Vietnam to Sydney to raise awareness for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other injuries will pass through Ballarat on Tuesday.
SAS veteran Laurie ‘Truck’ Sams SC (Star of Courage), also an amputee (leg), is in the midst of the 10,000 Long Ride Home.
Sams, along with five fellow ex-SAS servicemen, will meet the Ballarat RSL branch at its George Hotel headquarters at at 2.30pm and stay at the 8/7th Ranger Barracks before departing on Wednesday.
