The club’s general manager, Michael Phillips, is excited to declare it will again welcome Australia’s best trainee golfers to Ballarat for the tournament.
Phillips said the club was honoured to host such a prestigious event among the trainees and the club and its members should be proud that the golf course is up to a standard that can allow national PGA championships to be played on it.
“We’ve agreed to next year so it’ll definitely be back in 2017 at the Ballarat Golf Club,” Phillips said.

“It’s a premier event for us. It’s very hard to get a top quality event up off the ground (in the region), so to have it in Ballarat is really good.
“It’s a good thing for our course, it’s a great thing for our members to be proud of – that our course is at a standard to host such an event.”
Phillips said following 2017 the club will sit down with the Professional Golfers’ Association and discuss the tournament’s plans moving forward, but the club is confident of retaining the event in the foreseeable future.
