The Rio de Janeiro Olympian was the talk of the Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club, which he attended for three special clinics at the Marty Busch Reserve headquarters on Sunday.
BSCC’s Danielle Pompe said Turner was a hit with the children, sharing his expertise and even staying around for the day’s racing.
“The kids loved him,” Pompe, who made the initial contact to Turner through Facebook before his visit, said.
“They wouldn’t leave him alone.
“He is just a beautiful person, just the way he dealt with the kids.”
Turner represented Australia at this year’s Rio Games, where he reached the quarter finals of his event.
The 22-year-old is a past national series champion and finished second at a 2015 World Cup event in Sweden.
