An experienced Ballarat gardener will host a talk to share knowledge of the best ways to grow vegetables.
John Ditchburn, an avid gardener for more than 25 years, said his November 5 session would teach guests the best ways to operate a garden.
“It’s designed as practical training for gardeners, whether they are novices or experienced,” Mr Ditchburn said.
“We’ll be sitting in a garden showing physical examples of a number of techniques that you won’t find in any book.”
Mr Ditchburn said guests would learn to grow carrots, tomatoes, pumpkin and corn, and general garden control knowledge.
“The conditions here can be much tougher than in Melbourne, a lot of people get their timing wrong with planting vegetables,” he said.
