What’s in a Name is written by one of the Fellas, Myles Walsh, and illustrated by the group.
The men have just returned from the Lumina Luz Festival in Lisbon, to a launch in Ballarat on Monday night.
The book tells the story about how Walsh’s family came to have their traditional names erased and replaced by an anglicised name.
The story also tells of how Walsh has put together the missing pieces of his family’s history.
The Fellas, comprised of Ted Laxton, Myles Walsh, Adrian Rigney, Peter-Shane Rotumah, William Blackall, Thomas Marks and Joe Lee, have been together for three years with the purpose of telling stories about their country and community.
They have since been commissioned for several high profile projects, including Melbourne’s White Night and designing the Western Bulldogs’ guernsey.
