The next wave of nurses and paramedics from Ballarat’s Australian Catholic University campus were sent off in style on Tuesday, with staff members forming a guard of honour at the annual badging ceremony.

This year’s crop of bachelor of nursing and paramedicine and bachelor of nursing students have an astonishing employment rate, with 96 per cent of the 168 graduates to begin working following the conclusion of their course. Staff and students reflected on their four years together at the function, with the students given their certificates and badges. Student Eamon Glass said it was “surreal” to be finishing uni.
“It’s a surreal feeling. You’ve always got that end goal in mind, now it’s finally here, I don’t really know what to do with myself. (But) I think we all feel ready,” he said.
