Baker replaces Darren Govan as an assistant coach to David Flint in the South East Australian Basketball League.
Jenkins steps as Big V youth league team head coach after being an assistant to Lucas Bourke.
Govan has spent the past four years with the program – the past two years as a Rush assistant coach and the previous two season as head coach of the Big V development squad.
Baker has been involved in elite coaching for more than 10 years, spending the past two as an assistant coach for Vic Country under-18 men’s and women’s programs.
He is a product of the Basketball Ballarat junior elite program, having coached the Rush under-16 girls to a country championship this year.
Baker will continue this squad in the Victorian Junior Basketball League next year.
Rush elite teams chairman Kym Cassells said having Vaker return to the senior program after a few years away was exciting for the club.
“He has continued to develop and mature as a coach and we are looking forward to having him contribute to the Rush in the new season.”
She said while it was disappointing to lose Govan from the assistant’s role, it was pleasing that he would continue in the program with individual skill development sessions.
Jenkins has experience with South Australian Country program, in which under-16 boys’ head coach.
He joined the Miners’ senior program mid-way through 2015 as a Big V youth league assistant coach under Travis Hewish and Eric Hayes.
Megan Collins continues in the position of assistant coach, and will also coach the Rush program’s under-12 team.
Rush under-18 coach Meg Clark will also be joining the senior program as the new cadet coach – using this opportunity to develop her coaching credentials.
