Pat Shaw created a piece of Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club history by riding away with the inaugural Misery 100 at Burrumbeet on Saturday.
Although he only had a few bike lengths to spare, Shaw still had time to sit and up and celebrate after a tactical battle.
Simon Ward chased home Shaw, with Jay Bourke third.
BSCC riders will now contest the club road championships at the weekend – an event which also completes the Shady Acres spring series aggregate.
The series remains wide open with Dave Hearn leading by one point from Nick White and Peter Canny.
