
Five Ballarat players are among the inaugural inductees to the Table Tennis Victoria country hall of fame.
Lyn Gilbert, Kerry Woodward, Nicole Freeland, Monica Porter and Mark Smith join nine others who will be formally inducted at next year's country championships.
Gilbert, Woodward, Freeland and Porter are past Ballarat Table Tennis Association players, while Smith continues to play.
Table Tennis Victoria has set up the hall of fame to recognise distinguished country championships careers since 1952.
Smith is an nine-time men’s singles champion – a record number of titles.
His run began in 1998 and continued in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008.
