Police bomb squad in Wendouree, street closed off
Police bomb squad detectives have just cleared the scene of a suspicious package in Wendouree.
A package was thrown through a window of a house in Lorikeet Place near Hugh Street about 10.15am today.
It was not known exactly what the item was and the bomb squad was called from Melbourne.
Hugh Street was blocked off for a number of hours as police made inquiries, with detectives interviewing local residents.
The package has now been declared safe although it is not known who threw it.
Investigations are continuing.
