After a fruitless start to the one-day competition, Ballarat’s only senior female team tasted success in a twenty20 match.
Napoleons-Sebastopol ran down Prahran’s 5-107 with two wickets in hand at Carlton’s Princes Park on Sunday.
The visitors took a punt, sending in Prahran after winning the toss, and made the first breakthrough with a run out.
The experienced Beth Taylor anchored the successful run chase.
She top scored with 35.
Taylor, who is averaging 41.5 in the twenty20 competition, received important support from captain Sasha Peers, 19 not out.
Debbie Jones also made an important contribution with 14 at the top of the order.
Napoleons-Sebastopol has two more twenty20 matches before the mid-season break, including an away clash with Dandenong on Sunday.
