With the holiday season upon us, today is the final chance to get those last minute gifts and food you might need.
While you might be battling queues and have little stock left to choose from, here is a guide to opening hours of some shopping centres and food suppliers around the city.
The doors will be open at Ballarat Seafoods today from 9am until 12pm.
Sinclair Meats will be open from 6am until 4pm.
Most supermarkets around Ballarat will close at 10pm on Christmas Eve, reopening on Boxing Day.
Stockland Wendouree has had extended hours over the past two weeks, but it will close its doors at the normal time of 5pm on Christmas Eve, reopening at 9am on Boxing day, although some stores might have different hours. Central Square is open until 5pm and Myer until 6pm.
If you happen to get sick, Tristar Medical Group will be closed from the December 25-27, but Eureka Medical Centre will be open from 8am to 8pm on Christmas Day and 8am to 10pm on Boxing Day. Chemist Warehouse is open from 9am to 5pm on Boxing Day, after a 6pm close on Christmas Eve.
Once the rush is over and you’re in the mood for some family fun, you might want to check out these other attractions around Ballarat.
If you’re looking to step back in time, you will have to wait until December 27 for Kryal Castle to open after a short break.
Sovereign Hill is an option though, opening from 10am to 5:30pm every day over summer, except for Christmas day.
If cuddling up to some furry Kangaroos is more what you have in mind, the Ballarat Wildlife Park, while closed on Christmas Day, will be open from 9am-5pm on Boxing Day.
The Art Gallery of Ballarat and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka are both closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
