Three snowmen placed in the roundabout near the Hungry Jacks restaurant in Victoria Street were also pinpointed, with reports to The Courier saying that two had been stolen before the third was removed to safety by council employees.

The thefts follow extensive damage to expensive Christmas decorations on the council-supplied tree in Bakery Hill, where baubles were wrenched from the branches and smashed on the ground.
CCTV footage shows a man with long hair, a shoulder satchel and a t-shirt with an offensive message tearing the decorations down and smashing them, kicking some along the mall like soccer balls.
Local resident Maria Walker says it's hard to understand people in Ballarat tolerating vandalism and then complaining about council doing nothing.
