Now the former Damascus College student will spend his days building and designing much bigger objects when he starts studying mechanical engineering at Deakin University this year.
Raphael, 18, received his university offer on Wednesday at 5.40am.
“I was really happy with the result,” Raphael said.
However, former classmate Dana Farrow, also 18, had to wait until nearly 10.30am to find out she will be studying optometry this year, also at Deakin University.
“I was really relieved. I didn’t know if I would get in but I did,” Dana said. “I didn’t know what I wanted to do but then I saw optometry at an open day.”
The pair both plan to move for their tertiary studies.
Ballarat’s 2016 VCE cohort received their university offers via email on Wednesday, with Federation University offering more than 1500 places at its four campuses.
Aquinas College also offered more than 4000 spots at its sites, including Ballarat.
