Ballarat Kart Club president Paul Feely said up to 200 drivers would contest the Saturday and Sunday meet.
“It’s our biggest event of the year.”
He said some of the best karters from Victoria and South Australia would compete.
“They’ll be reaching speeds of up to 110kmh.
“Racing will be both competitive and country friendly.”
The series is open to beginners, enthusiasts and elite karters, with drivers from seven-year-old cadets to the over-40 masters.
The series comprises six rounds, going from Haddon to Cobden on April 23, Horsham on May 21, Portland on July 16, Hamilton on September 10 and Warrnambool on October 14-15.
The karting event will be part of a big motor sport double-header in Ballarat, with a round of the Eureka Sprintcar Series at Buninyong’s Redline Raceway on Saturday, February 4.
